Fruit Connect 3 is a timed tile-matching game in the popular Fruit Connect series that features Mahjong rules and an island paradise theme. The player's goals are to clear levels by matching tiles in pairs, earn high scores and gold stars, find hidden treasures, discover new tiles, and participate in events.
On each level, the game displays fruit-marked ivory tiles in a pattern. The player can only remove pairs of matching ones. The different types of fruit include apples, blueberries, dragon fruit, kiwi, lemons, oranges, mangoes, papayas, peaches, pineapples, plums, pomegranates, strawberries and watermelons. Additionally, the player can only select tiles that are at a distance of no more than three connecting lines along an edge or across a gap.
Fruit Connect 3 makes play difficult by shifting the positions of tiles up, down, left, right, or in multiple directions after tile matches. On some levels, it blocks connecting lines with seashells and adds extra fruit tiles to the field after the player's actions remove numbered palm leaf tiles. That said, if the player overcomes these obstacles and makes consecutive matches, they receive combo bonus points.
The game also offers special tiles and tools that perform helpful actions. For example, the player can remove a matching fruit pair by selecting two matching caterpillar tiles. They can also use helpful tools that appear at Levels 2, 6 and 10, including a twisted arrows button that shuffles the tiles and a snowflake button that freezes the timer.
During a special event, the player receives gift boxes after they complete a specific number of levels. Each box contains helpful tools or a new tile design. They can also earn the tools by viewing ad videos.
