Forest Bubbles is a bubble-popping game set in a forest filled with greenery and fireflies near a treasure chest that rests in front of a large, purple portal edged with a brass and bronze frame. The player shoots bubble projectiles from the black cannon of a wooden ship at a mix of magic bubbles hanging in rows inside the portal.
Across 60 levels, the player must pop clusters of three or more bubbles quickly to prevent the rows from sliding to the bottom of the playfield. They also attempt to earn a high score with standard bubble-popping and bonus rewards. They can track their score in the upper-right area of the screen.
Although Forest Bubbles doesn't feature a traditional set of two swappable projectiles at a time, it offers instead a unique method of popping bubbles quickly. The player can swap the main projectile simply by selecting it on the cannon one or more times.
The player has no way of knowing what color bubble might appear in its place. As a result, they can lose time trying to find the color they need, which allows the rows to slide further down the screen. That said, they still play more rapidly than with only two possibilities each time. The game doesn't make them pay for this privilege with currency or penalize them.
