Fairy Sweet Balls is a bubble-popping game. Fairy Sofia needs the player's help to defeat emoji-style monsters that have stolen sweet treats throughout the land. The player collects the desserts and snacks by knocking the monsters from hanging rows with projectiles. They must collect a specific number of treats in each area to achieve victory.
The player receives six monster projectile heads. They can't swap the projectiles, but the preview gives them an opportunity to create a six-shot strategy before they use the first one. They typically remove the row heads by directing Sofia to toss the main projectile at two or more matching monsters that rest in close proximity or across a slight gap. They can sometimes use similar heads that display different emotions to form a cluster.
The monster bubbles fall off the rows and then pop. Any non-matching attached ones pop as well. That said, a cluster won't form when a gap exists on some levels. Additionally, some monster head projectiles hit a connected group of matching balls and then just bounce away without warning. Projectiles also bounce off desserts.
Fairy Sweet Balls sometimes helps the player with different power balls that offer an aiming line and targeting arrow. These bubble tools include a black bomb that removes a large non-matching cluster, a swirl candy that hits multiple targets via a bouncing move, and a rainbow ball that matches any monster head.
