Emerland Solitaire is a fantasy sword and sorcery game that features story progression dependent on gameplay similar to classic TriPeaks Solitaire. Master Alvarius has made the player his magic apprentice. He needs the player's help to retake control of the Source, Emerland's source of magic, back from an evil magic user named Morus.
Alavrius and the player start their journey on a winding path across a map of Emerland. They can't stop Morus unless the player learns how to harness the Source's wild card magic and acquire allies on their quest. The player trains via high-low, next-card solitaire gameplay and the collection of coins and golden stars.�
Against stunning paintings of Emerland's landscapes, the game displays face-up cards atop face-down cards, face-down deck draw pile cards layered horizontally, and a single face-up card to the right of the pile. The player must remove all the central cards by choosing a card that ranks one higher (A, 2, 3... ) or lower (K, Q, J...) than the face-up deck card based on standard TriPeaks' rules. They can also choose wraparound sequence (A, K, Q...) or (K, A, 2...) play. When no card matches, they select the face-down deck card closest to the face-up one.
Emerland Solitaire offers combo streaks that generate stars that unlock new levels and provide the player with star chests filled with treasure. As long as the player maintains an uninterrupted streak of matches, they collect these bonuses. They also use booster cards. A joker card booster replaces any card, a combo gives the player an automatic star, and a star guarantees they receive extra deck cards every time they earn a new star. They use coins to buy and activate these options. If they need more coins, they can view ads or spin the wheel of fortune.
