Emergency Jam is a sorting game similar to Car Out Jam. It features parking lot and passenger sorting elements. In an emergency services parking lot in a major city, the player helps first responders quickly drive away on emergency calls. They must unblock vehicles, transfer the units to open parking spaces, and prompt personnel to board color-matched buses and vans.
The vehicles reflect common emergency designs for emergency medical technicians, firefighters, medical equipment and lab delivery drivers, and police officers. Each unit is painted with a related color. For example, patrolling police use blue vehicles, and SWAT use blue and black ones, which means that passengers must be blue and black, respectively. Additionally, each vehicle has a white directional arrow painted on top of it.
All emergency personnel, casually represented as colored stickmen, wait in a single-line queue on the sidewalk as they come out of an enclosed area that has a rotating orange-and-yellow emergency light on the roof. They stand near four available parking spaces. A sign near the line displays the number of waiting people at any given time. If the player is willing to view ad videos, they can unlock three additional spaces.
Emergency Jam offers three boosters that the player can buy with coins or ad views. The player can change the colors of the vehicles or rearrange the passengers in the queue to match available transportation. If the level displays a VIP space, they can move any vehicle to the spot and rapidly fill it with passengers.
