Easy Sorting on Shelves is a hypercasual timed sorting game that has a career simulation theme. The player works as a stock clerk, sorting and removing items on shelves in a commercial location that has blank, solid-colored walls and white shelving units with vibrant, colorful signage. They must sort the mixed items on the shelves before time runs out on a digital clock at the upper-center area of the screen.
The player sorts common merchandise, such as beverages, fruits and vegetables, ice cream, jelly jars, oil bottles, and snack bags, on fixtures that include standalone vertical units and wall-mounted cubbies. They can only sort items into groups of three at the front of each shelf.
All shelves contain multiple layers of items with hidden ones in shadows. Additionally, some fixtures have deeper shelves than others. The game won't remove any items until the player aligns three identical ones on a shelf.
Easy Sorting on Shelves doesn't initially provide much help. The player can reset the level by using the pause icon to access a level reset forward arrow icon on a drop-down menu. With later levels, they receive tools, such as wide gray handle-style trays, where they can place some items to free up space on the shelves. These tools are especially helpful because the game increases the number of items while reducing the number of empty spaces at the front of the shelves.
When the player clears every shelf, the game celebrates with three stars and multiple smaller blue stars. That said, the player only earns one star per level in the upper-left area.
