Dunk Shot is an arcade game by Ubisoft's Ketchapp that features unique basketball-style gameplay elements and seemingly endless fun.
The game presents a player with a wall of floating hoops that appear one by one after the player makes successful shots. Unlike modern basketball, each hoop has a red rim and closed net in a bowl shape. A red backboard appears now and then to help the player, but typically they can only proceed by using hand-eye coordination, sidewalls and a curving, orange, dotted line.
The player's mission is to progress up the wall vertically by shooting and dunking balls into the hoops. They start with a traditional basketball ball. During gameplay, they collect golden stars that they trade for ball upgrades at 100 stars per ball. Upgrade designs include a black, red-striped basketball, a multishade, blue marble, a yin-yang symbol and a ladybug.
Dunk Shot has a several interesting extras that make the game even more fun than other similar games. The ball sometimes bursts into flames. A prize wheel awards them purple, diamond-shaped stars they can use to buy other playfield themes that alter the hoop and net colors, including themes titled Sky, Notebook, Vikings, Circus, Lights, Forest, Egypt and Sakura. To win additional purple stars, they can also play Challenge games that test their ability to dunk the ball with a time limit, earn certain achievements, bounce the ball certain ways and perform with accuracy.
