Dressing Up Rush is a hyper-casual rush-style racing game with hints of Barbie and fashion show elements. The player directs a girl down a racecourse to collect floating diamonds, clothing, wigs, footwear, fashion colors, household items and other objects that match the requirements to win the race.
With some levels, play occurs on a standard rush-run racetrack. With other levels, the girl pulls a cart behind her or drives a pink Barbiesque car. Both vehicles eventually act like diamond magnets. The player also learns how to navigate water courses with the girl on a surfboard or jet ski.
The player always attempts to collect the exact objects displayed in an example pane. If the pane displays the girl wearing a blonde wig and a short red polka dot or solid red dress, for example, they direct the girl to collect the wig and base dress from two or more options suspended in the air and then make her run into a pool of red paint accented with white polka dots or past a giant can of red spray paint, respectively.
Dressing Up Rush has a renovation side game. The player wins diamonds at the end of each level. If they're willing to watch ads, they receive more diamonds when they win and while spinning a lucky wheel. With this money, they pay to move various types of property into a Barbiesque house on a hardscape in the ocean, set up a daytime playdate during an island beach getaway, prepare a luxurious fashion show stage and catwalk, start their first garden, and decorate a wedding venue. The locations unlock after they reach specific levels.
