Dragon Sort: Save the Princess is a rescue and tower-defense game that features bubble-popping and sorting logic-puzzle action. A princess needs the player to save her from dragons that have taken over different landscapes that feature winding roads.
The player must select and sort arrow-marked plastic totes to position cannon-style turrets along these roads. When a bullet hits a color-matched spot on a dragon's body, the scales transform into disappearing bubbles. Repeated hits shorten the dragon's length and eventually kill it.
If the player views advertisements, they can use six turrets at a time. Otherwise, they receive four free spaces to set up the guns. The sorting requirements are extremely similar to parking lot sorting games. The player can only use unblocked totes. Selected boxes speed toward empty turret spots and then transform into the cannons.
Dragon Sort: Save the Princess offers several special items, boosters and tools that help the player. For example, the ad-supported boosters include options to eliminate a box, slow a dragon, sort dragon parts, and increase turret attack range.
When the player kills a dragon, they receive star medals and gold coins. They use the Roles button on the home screen and star medals to increase the princess' health, make her invincible for a few seconds, unlock different princesses, and freeze the dragon for a few seconds. They also receive baby dinosaurs and chibi dragons in a collection accessible via the Collect button. As the player unlocks new levels, they use the Skins button and their coins to purchase other princess identities, a prince, a king, a spirited young man, and a stone dragon.
