Domino King is a tile-matching game similar to offline Dominoes that offers Classic, Fives and Block play. It also provides a decoration side game and a global competitive ranking system.
As with traditional dominoes, the player attempts to earn a specific number of points before anyone else across rounds of play. With the Classic version, for example, they need 30 points to win.
The player and their opponent each place tiles on a tabletop during turn-based play. When specific circumstances take place, such as one player emptying their hand entirely or both players passing a specific number of times, a round ends and the game assigns points based on the version of play. As seen with the Classic example, which is a Draw game, each player draws tiles from a pile until no more moves remain.
During a round, the player matches the dots in squares on their tiles with tiles on the table. The game auto-places one-square matching tiles end-to-end. When the player matches with a tile that has identical squares, the game places the domino to the side of its table match. Some tiles also have blank squares that align end to end based on blank spaces and dot values.
Domino King helps the player by highlighting usable tiles during each turn. That said, it limits the amount of time a player can come up with a strategy and play a specific tile. It only gives them a single minute.
The game also rewards the player with liquid in a potion container. The player then uses the Decorate button on the home screen and the potion points assigned to the liquid to fill in a silhouette of a hidden scene.
