Digital Blocks is a hypercasual merge game. The player's goals are to merge colorful blocks marked with white numbers to create the highest-numbered one possible and earn a high score.
Many numbered block merge games feature drop mechanics. The player receives blocks near the top of the playfield. They drop one at a time into a container or zone. In this game, the player directs blocks to slide upward toward the top of the field via five chutes that look somewhat like bowling alley lanes. The game provides them with a new block in a different alley each time. The player must then decide to direct the block based on the game's recommendation or use a different lane.
Digital Blocks auto-merges adjacent identical blocks. The player can use this aspect of the game to create multi-merge opportunities in which more than two blocks merge with one move. For example, if the player directs a 16 block into the topmost spot of a lane and an 8 block below it in the same lane, then they might position an 8 block to the right of the 16 block and then add another 8 block to create another 16 block. When the 16 block appears, the game then auto-merges and evolves the two 16 blocks to form a 32 block.
The player loses if the blocks pile downward and reach a purple area at the bottom of the field. They must then start over.
