Cute Cubes is a block puzzle game that features cute anthropomorphic cubes in polyomino shapes. The player's goal across modes and levels is to fill all the unused spaces on playfields with the shapes.
The game provides six modes (Beginner, Easy, Medium, Hard, Super Hard and Impossible) with many fun, unique levels to unlock. Within each level, the player can only fill the spaces with the set of shapes provided for the mode.
The level of difficulty increases based on the number of shapes the player receives to fill the spaces. With Beginner, they receive three to four shapes and small playfields. As a result, it's easier for a player to figure out the correct locations for each piece because few options exist.
Cute Cubes makes play more difficult by adding additional shapes to later level sets, such as 11 to 12 shapes for Super Hard and 13 to 14 shapes for Impossible. It also makes levels more difficult by adding obstacles. For example, the player needs to set shapes around one or more fixed stone cubes from time to time.
The game helps the player in various ways. For example, the shapes aren't sticky, which means the player can place a shape as many times as they like into any available positions. It also supplies them with hints for 50 coins per hint.
If the player does well, they receive coins and stars. Additionally, they eventually receive gifts.
