Cubito is an arcade, endless runner that features elements similar to snake games. A player must direct a snake or train made of magenta cubes down two tracks made of neon green cubes suspended in a purple region similar to outer space. Their only task is to keep the cubes on one of the two tracks for as long as possible to achieve their best score.
As with snake games, the player can lose cubes from their snake/train if they fail to direct it around obstacles on the tracks, including purple walls and pink barriers. The tracks also have short and wide gaps that can make it difficult for the player to gauge distances and available remaining track in a section. The game features red reverse tracks that are both deadly to touch and expand and contract the green tracks, which makes gauging the locations pf gaps even more difficult. Additionally, white speed cubes with arrows exist that make the player's cubes move down a track too fast.
Any time the player hits an obstacle or fails to stay partially on a green track, they lose magenta cubes. If their cubes slam into a barrier or fall through a gap, they lose the game. They must then restart and attempt to do better than their last best score.
Cubito does provide a healing tool to give the player an opportunity to keep going on the green tracks. Any time the player directs the cubes through a magenta cube with a heart on it, the entire snake/train regrows to its original size.
