Cubes 2048.io is a real-time, multiplayer snake game based on 2048 cube-merge and battle-arena games. A player starts with a low "2" cube. They can also watch one or more advertisements to start with a "16," "32" or "128" cube.
The player's goal is to create a cube for the head of their snake that's so high-numbered that other players' snakes can't kill it and collect its cubes. The player makes their first cube slither around the battle arena until it merges with another "2" cube. They continue to slither and merge cubes to add smaller cubes behind the head cube and eventually reach their 2048 goal.
The arena is filled with large-numbered enemy snakes that can kill smaller ones and merge with cubes at the back of any snake. The player must try to stay away from these larger snakes until they build up a high-number head cube. They use different speed boosters to make their snake move faster to escape the enemy and devour smaller snakes.
Cubes 2048.io also makes gameplay harder by sporadically making tiles marked with a division (/) sign appear in the arena. These tiles can reduce the numbers on cubes.
