Cross Stitch 2 is an updated version of the popular Cross Stitch arts-and-crafts, embroidery game by CodersElectronics. The player uses paint-by-number rules to transform a multi-shade gray pattern on an off-white canvas into a colorful picture that looks as if it was sewn onto the canvas using a cross-stitch needle and thread.
This game offers dozens of updated and new patterns across two collections (Collection 1 and Animals). Unlike Cross Stitch, the player can't remove the grid lines from a pattern while painting it. Otherwise, the game is almost identical with only slightly different graphics and new language options.
To paint the canvas, the player selects a pencil icon and a paint color and then paints cells with matching labels on the pattern. The paint has a crossed thread texture. If the player has difficulty reading the labels, they can use the lower right corner magnifier buttons. If they make a mistake, they can paint over it with the right color. They can also move the pattern around on the canvas by selecting the hand next to the pencil.
How to play:
Pick a collection and pattern. After selecting the pencil, select a color and then paint the matching cells. Continue with additional colors to complete the picture. If necessary, use the magnifier buttons and paint over mistakes.
Controls:
Keyboard: Cross Stitch 2 offers keyboard options. To select the pencil, press 1. To select the hand, press 2. To select a paint color, press A for the color labeled A, B for B and so on.
Mouse: To make any onscreen selection, click the button or icon. To speed up the paint time, position the cursor above a cell that displays a matching label, press the left button, and then slide the mouse. To read small labels, click the magnifier zoom in (+) button or roll the scrollwheel.
Mobile: To make any selection, tap the button or icon. To speed up the paint time, position the cursor, press the touchscreen or trackpad, and then slide the finger or stylus. To read small labels, tap the magnifier zoom in button or spread apart two fingers on the surface.
