Crazy Eights

Card

Crazy Eights is a fun and easy-to-learn card game played with a standard 52-card deck. The goal is simple: be the first player to get rid of all your cards by matching either the suit or the rank of the top card on the discard pile.

At the start of the game, each player is dealt eight cards, with play continuing clockwise. The remaining cards form the stock pile in the center of the table, and the top card is turned face up to begin the discard pile. On your turn, you may discard one card that matches the suit or rank of the top discard.

Eights are special cards and can be played at any time. When you play an eight, you get to choose which suit the next player must follow, giving you a powerful way to control the flow of the game. If a player cannot make a valid move, they must draw a card from the stock pile. When the stock pile runs out, the discard pile is reshuffled to continue the game.

At the end of each round, players score points based on how many cards they have left. Eights are worth 50 points, face cards are worth 10 points, and all other cards count at face value. The player who empties their hand earns the highest score for the round, while the remaining players score fewer points depending on the value of their remaining cards.

The game is played over four rounds, and the player with the highest total score at the end is declared the winner. With its simple rules, strategic use of eights, and fast-paced gameplay, Crazy Eights is a classic card game that is perfect for both casual and competitive players.
