Color Tunnel, a 3D, endless-runner, arcade game that features tunnels instead of race tracks, removes the third-person camera angle commonly seen with these types of games and replaces it with a first-person perspective commonly found in shooter games. As a result, the player is taken on a wild ride through a tunnel at super-fast speeds that feel highly realistic.
The player's goal is to go as far as possible without hitting moving obstacles in their path, including fan blades and rolling and sliding geometric shapes. As with other endless runners, the game inevitably ends with the player hitting an obstacle. The player's goal from that point on is to beat their best distance score displayed next to a trophy icon.
Color Tunnel doesn't make this process easy. The player can easily lose control. They can misjudge distances and the movement of objects in the tunnel as the camera moves with the player's actions. For example, when the player moves in a direction, the geometric pattern on the tunnel walls creates the illusion of the tunnel moving around the player. This effect coupled with high speed can make it difficult for the player to guesstimate their position in relation to upcoming objects.
How to play:
Look down the tunnel to determine the movement of upcoming obstacles in the way. Use the controls to move away to prevent a hit. Continue down the tunnel for as long as possible.
Controls:
Keyboard: To move left to bypass an obstacle, press A or Left Arrow. To move right, press D or Right Arrow.
Mouse: To bypass obstacles, press the left button and move the mouse in the desired direction.
Another option: Gauge the next position of a moving object, and then click an empty space far enough away from the object to prevent a hit.
Mobile: To bypass obstacles, press the screen or trackpad with a finger or stylus, and slide in the desired direction.
