Color Road is an endless runner that replaces stickman and other types of people commonly found in these types of games with colored balls. A player's primary objective is to hit a colored ball against balls of the same color for as long as possible on different roads.
The player initially receives a pink ball that rolls forward on a two-tone blue track in the sky. They must direct the ball to the left, center or right positions on the track to align it with matching balls. If they fail to avoid non-matching balls or other obstacles, they're bumped back to the start of the entire game and the first road.
On the road, the game often switches the ball color by rolling the ball up a ramp of a different color. The buildings and sky change color to match the new ball color as well. The player must then hit balls of the same matching solid or white and matching striped color and avoid obstacles.
Unlike similar games, Color Road doesn't allow the ball to drop off the side of the track, which means that the player doesn't have to worry about mishandling the ball when aligning it along the edge of the track during the run.
