Color Puzzle: Collect the Palette is a tile-sorting game. The player receives a series of 12 black-and-white drawings set in circular movable rings. Their goal is to sort color tiles on 10 rectangular tile-based color palettes per drawing, or stage, to colorize the pictures.
Each palette is more similar to a color swatch chart found in a hardware store than a traditional artist's paint palette. A rectangular palette features multiple tiles in gradient colors that transition from dark to light. The colors also range along the light spectrum.
The player must rearrange the tiles into adjacent positions that guarantee blended, smooth transitions between the colors. For example, blue tiles transition to purple and then red ones, dark colors transition to light ones, and cool tones transition to warm ones.
The game makes the process easier by providing non-movable tiles marked with dots. The player can use the colors on these dot tiles to guide their actions. They simply need to rearrange all tiles into positions that match the gradients on these and nearby tiles.
Color Puzzle: Collect the Palette provides the player with small semi-circular paint palettes as a type of currency that unlocks each rectangular tile-based palette. The player needs five small palettes per tile-sorting scenario. If they run out of currency, they can earn more by viewing advertisements. The game also provides them with free ones after so many hours.
