Color Hexa Sort is a sorting game with tile-matching and renovation elements. Across levels, the player sorts hexagon-shaped tiles, or hexas, in stacks on platforms of gray pavers. They must stack and collect enough tiles to complete tasks and earn coins. They then use the collected tiles to "construct" hidden parts of towns.
The game provides three mixed-color stacks at a time below a platform. The player slides each one to a space. To sort the tiles into color-matched stacks, they must position a stack adjacent to one that has a matching top tile or tiles. The game flips the top matching tile or tiles from a stack to the last positioned adjacent one.
The player must work strategically to place stacks in optimal positions. After the formation of a stack of 10 or more identical tiles, the game removes the stack. It also increases the number of collected tiles on a goal bar in the upper-center area.
Color Hexa Sort offers three boosters. The player can remove a stack with a hammer, reposition a single stack or swap two stacks with a four-arrow tile, or refresh the three stacks below a platform with double arrows. They use their coins to buy access to these tools.
On the main screen, they also use coins to purchase new tile and background designs. They use their collected tiles to renovate a town. Over time, they receive other rewards for specific achievements and as lucky spin wheel prizes.
