Color Block Jam is a timed block puzzle game similar to parking lot and motor vehicle jam sorting games. Across levels, the player must clear polyomino shapes from boards of different shapes and sizes. When they unlock a new level, they receive coin winnings they can double by viewing ads.
The player must slide the pieces one by one through color-matched shredders that break the shapes into individual cubes. A board might have two or more of these shredders positioned along its edges. Some boards have multiple shredders of different widths. The player can only shred a shape with a color-matched shredder that is the same width or wider. With some levels, the player can only slide a shape in the direction of an arrow displayed on it.
Color Block Jam offers plenty of challenging play. For example, some boards feature non-playable gaps. Additionally, the player might need to reposition shapes in a specific sorting order, or shred the base of a stack of shapes before shredding other shapes from the stack. That said, the game provides boosters at Levels 8, 12 and 16, including a snowflake that freezes the timer for 10 seconds, a hammer that removes a single shape from the board, and a color vacuum that clears away all blocks of one color.
