Cliff Diving is a singleplayer game that simulates basic amateur and professional diving from cliffs on a tropical island near an ocean inlet. The player must help a diver successfully jump from a cliff and move their body so that they enter the water with nearly straight, heads-down form. The player faces multiple, increasingly difficult challenges: The lighting changes from mid-day brightness in the initial levels to sunset waning light and then nighttime shadows. The number of required dives increases with each new level. If the player fails to achieve poor-to-perfect scores with every dive and experiences a bad landing, the game forces them to start over from the beginning of a level.
How to play:
Help the diver jump correctly from the cliff, realign their body and enter the water as straight as possible. Never dive into the water feet down or with a belly or back flop, as these moves reset the completed dive number. To win a level, complete the prerequisite number of dives.
Controls:
The game's onscreen tutorial prompts the player to click hold to jump and dive. Yet, holding even for a second can cause the diver to backflip into the cliff face and bounce off rocks. Follow the below steps to complete a perfect dive:
Mouse: Click the diver to make him jump from the cliff. As soon as he is above the water and starts his descent, click multiple times to align his body. Since a dive can fail easily, practice clicking at different dive points to learn the best number of clicks and seconds to pause between clicks. To forward-flip the diver, wait until he dives from the highest point, click and hold to initiate the flip and then release to reorient him.
Mobile: To make the diver jump from the cliff, tap him once with the tip of of a finger or stylus. During his dive, tap the screen repeatedly to achieve the correct dive position. To forward-flip him, tap and press and then release to reorient him.
