Chrome Dino Run is a pixelated arcade-style platformer similar to the original Dinosaur Game (i.e., Chrome Dino) created by Google for the Chrome web browser that features a dinosaur named "The Lonely T-Rex." The original game works both online and offline. It was created to allow people to de-stress and relax while waiting for their internet to come back online.
This is also an example of an original endless "rush" style racing game. Once the player interacts with it, the dark gray Tyrannosaurus rex automatically rushes across a white and gray desert. The player's only challenge is to keep it alive. The game presents obstacles in its path, such as stands of cacti. The player directs the dinosaur to leap over the plants.
Timing is everything in Chrome Dino Run. The player must allow the dinosaur to almost hit an obstacle to help it make a long enough jump to not hit anything. If it bumps its front or feet into an obstacle, the game resets back to the beginning of the run. When the player does well, the score updates at the top of the screen, and they move on to new levels and harder challenges.
One of the best parts about this game is that it makes classic arcade sounds during every action. If the player fails to make the dinosaur leap in time, the sound for the end of the run is entirely different.
