Chinese Marbles is a timed bubble-popping game. Across nine locations in China, the player uses a short metal cannon and projectiles to remove poppable marbles from the playfields before one to two timers count down to an end. The player wins points. They sometimes win bonus points as well. If they earn a high enough score, they might rank on several different global leaderboards.
The player removes the bubble marbles from the field by shooting projectile marbles at groups of two or more matching marbles that either hang in rows or rotate while attached to a post like a wheel. When they create a group, the marbles explode like they contain gunpowder. If the group has any non-matching marbles attached to it, the explosion destroys those balls as well.
The game tracks the level, score and time on a wooden board to the right of the field. The player loses if they fail to remove all bubbles in time.During wheel-style play, the board also has a horizontal teal timer bar above three yellow dots that rapidly decreases in length. If the player doesn't move quickly enough, the teal color disappears, and the game adds more marbles to the wheel.
Chinese Marbles offers multiple boosters. It provides ice shards to freeze the wheel or downward slide of the rows; a potion that turns one bubble into a color that matches the projectiles; and black bomb explosives and flames that destroy non-matching marbles.
