Cats Merge Puzzle is a merge game in the Suika subcategory. Against a dark blue backdrop, the player merges various colorful cat heads to create larger new ones until they reach the ultimate evolution. They also attempt to earn the highest possible score.
The game doesn't provide a traditional container like a bag, box or claw machine. Instead, it displays a dark vertical panel with a horizontal white penalty line, one main head above the line, and another one in the background below the upper-center score area. Unlike many similar games, this one doesn't provide an aiming line or targeting option.
The player aims and drops each head into the container. Their goal with a drop is to merge two identical cats. Since the heads often bounce slightly and roll around like balls, they also attempt to use dropping heads to nudge two identical adjacent ones together.
Cat Merge Puzzle provides one incredibly adorable booster designed to help the player merge heads. When the player selects an upper-left button marked with a green frog and views an advertisement, they can shake the container by dropping the frog into it, which makes some matching cats roll into merge positions.
