Capybara Screw Jam is a sorting game that has an adorable capybara theme and elements from the hardware and parking lot subcategories. In a South American river, capybaras float in the water while holding colorful containers marked with white arrows. Their arrangement looks similar to a logjam. Gigantic shapes are screwed onto the nearby bank with painted balls. The player's goals are to direct the capybaras to lotus leaves to collect the balls.
As with parking lot sorting games, the player can only direct the movements of unblocked capybaras carrying containers marked with outward-pointing directional arrows. They must carefully prompt unblocked ones to move first to open paths for the rest. When a capybara arrives at a lotus leaf, the balls that match the color of its container automatically unscrew from one or more shapes and transfer to the container's slots. The capybara then swims off-screen.
Cabybara Screw Jam has five unlocked lotus leaves. It gives the player access to two additional spots if they watch advertisements. It also allows them to skip a difficult level with an ad view by selecting an upper-left forward arrow button. The player receives three boosters below the river as well. They can auto-load three containers, refresh or reposition all remaining capybara, and pull out or transfer any river capybara to a lotus leaf with ad views.
The game doesn't only provide sorting fun. The player can add characters to different island locations by using the balls as projectiles to remove jigsaw puzzle pieces covering pictures of specific capybara characters. Once they completely uncover a picture, they can transfer the character to a location.
