Butterfly Match 3 is a match-3 puzzle game. In a summertime land with lush forests and meadows that overflow with colorful flowers, fairies and butterflies play together. The fairies need the player's help to free butterflies encased in blue colored panes on a board.
The player must break a specific number of panes per level, as shown in the lower-right area of the screen. They perform this task primarily by performing matches of three or more butterflies using a swap maneuver in which they swap one butterfly with another to create a line of three or more connected matching ones. They can also complete their task by using boosters they create when they form lines of four or more butterflies.�
For example, four butterflies create an arrow like a rocket that removes butterflies of any color from the board along a row or column. Five butterflies create a rainbow potion that removes one type of butterfly that has specific wing colors and patterns from the entire board. When the player breaks the panes, the butterflies disappear with sparkling fairy dust, and the game awards points in the right area near the current level number.
Butterfly Match offers 40 levels of match-3 fun. As the game progresses, the player faces numerous challengees, such as green twisted vines that lock in place around the edges of the panes and with an X across the front. The player can remove these vines by performing a match using the butterfly trapped in the pane or any booster.
