Bubble Wheel is a timed bubble-popping game with a fruit theme. In different landscapes, the player clears small slices of various types of fruit from giant, slowly rotating fruit wheels before time runs out. They also attempt to earn a high score.
The slices include cucumbers, kiwis, strawberries, tomatoes, watermelons, pomegranates, oranges and coconuts. The player receives a golden metal arrow shooter and two fruit projectiles. They form clusters of three identical fruit with each projectile that fall from the wheel along with any non-matching linked fruit. Their targeting goal during play is to open a space between the shooter and the center of the wheel. If they make a cluster of the central fruit, the game knocks away every other piece still on the wheel. The player also receives bonus points.
Bubble Wheel attempts to distract the player with small tumbling fruit pieces that fall through the air in the background. Although it permits shots all the way to the edge of the wheel, the player can't shoot two or more fruit at the edge to form a cluster unless a gap exists on the wheel. Otherwise, the game destroys the projectile. Additionally, the game has invisible side walls. The player can use these walls for angled shots, but they must also use caution when attempting to get rid of unwanted projectiles. The game sometimes bounces projectiles into random positions.
The player can review the time remaining, the level of play, and their growing score to the right of the wheel.�
