Bubble Shooter Origins is a bubble-popping game with a classic design that includes a gradient light purple backdrop, glossy mixed-colored hanging bubbles, and an arrow shooter that looks like a pencil drawing. The player's goals are to pop every bubble and earn a high score.
The game requires the player to pop linked clusters of at least three bubbles with matching projectiles. It places the primary projectile at the bottom of the arrow. To help the player strategically plan out every shot, it also offers a non-swappable preview of the next projectile to the lower left. After a shot, the bubbles fade away. Any non-matching ones attached only to the cluster fade as well.
The player receives five penalty passes. If they fail to make five matches, the game slides a new row onto the field and resets the passes to one less. Over time, it decreases the available passes until no more remain, and then it resets the passes back to five. If the bubbles ever slide down to a dashed horizontal line above the shooter, the player must start over.
Bubble Shooter Origins offers a red crosshair booster that extends the arrow's length and adds a color-matched targeting bubble. It also offers a cherry bomb that explodes non-matching bubbles. With enough consecutive valid hits, the player receives the boosters automatically. Otherwise, they must view ads to earn more.
If the player is willing to sign up for an account, they can participate in competitive ranking against other online players. If they make the top five, their username and score appear in the lower-right area.
