Bubble Gum: Puzzle Game is a casual game that offers bubble-popping and brick-breaker elements. Each level features a walled playfield broken into sections that look like rooms. To access a new room, the player must break a numbered lock attached to a yellow rope by creating numbered chewing gum bubbles that float toward the rope and decrease the lock number upon contact. They also attempt to earn as many coins as possible and three gold stars.
The player must use caution when blowing bubbles. The game has spiked balls called thorns that bounce around to pop bubbles. Red thorns bounce slowly against side walls, wood blocks, post pillars, serrated blades, rotating flippers and other obstacles, and completed bubbles. Small black thorns bounce around much more quickly. Thorns break bubbles during the bubble-formation process.
If the player surrounds or partially blocks off a thorn, the threat bounces until it breaks and releases coins. The player also earns coins when they create mega-sized bubbles. They receive extra coins at the end of a level.
Bubble Gum: Puzzle Game inhibits the player's actions. The player receives a limited number of moves per room. If they make a bubble that's too large, it breaks without decreasing the number on the lock.
