Break Many Bricks is a brick-breaker that features pixelated graphics and other elements similar to Atari's Breakout and popular, classic arcade-hall games. The player is challenged to completely destroy different patterns of multicolored bricks across more than 130 levels using only their hand-eye coordination, geometry, physics and playfield walls.
The player initially receives a white ball resting on a thick, horizontal paddle below hanging patterns of bricks at the top and center of the playfield. They must bounce the ball into the pattern and keep it continuously bouncing upward any time it falls back toward the bottom of the field.
If the player is successful, the game displays one or more blue, dotted bars to provide additional help. With a bar that features a line of dots, the player receives three extra balls when the bar hits the paddle. If the bar has three dots in the shape of a pyramid, then every ball on the playfield multiplies to create three new balls per existing ball.
Break Many Bricks doesn't have a lot of obstacles. The player must bounce the ball or balls off or around unbreakable stone barriers. They also have to hit the ball into narrow gaps. Once balls start multiplying, the game becomes idle and automatically destroys bricks without any need for the paddle. If the player wins, they receive up to three stars for completing the level. If they lose, they must start over.
