Bottle Sort is a sorting game. On a 4x6 table, the player completes tasks by sorting tiny colored bottles on trays. From level to level, their goals are to collect a specific number of bottles by color and earn gold coins stamped with stars.
This game is most similar to hex stack tile sorting games. It displays one or more collection tasks in the top-center area above the table and three trays that contain mixed-color bottles below the table. The player moves the trays to empty horizontal spaces on the table and then receives a new set.
To collect bottles based on the tasks, such as 1 blue bottle, the player must fill a tray with six bottles of the same color. They can only move bottles from one tray to another when they place the trays in adjacent positions.
For example, if the player places a tray that contains three blue bottles next to a tray that has one blue bottle and two green bottles, the game transfers the blue bottle to an empty space on the tray of blue bottles. When the player fills the tray, the game makes it disappear and reduces the collection number for blue bottles by one point. On some levels, the game reveals hidden tasks after the player completes initial ones.
Bottle Sort features other obstacles as well, such as boxes that block table spaces. The player can only break a box to free a space by filling a tray in a position adjacent to the box. They don't need to break all boxes to win a level, but they can increase their coin winnings by doing so.
