Blossom Party is a casual, connect-style, tile-matching game with spring, summer and fall flower, garden and potted plant themes. The player attempts to clear playfields designed to look like lined notepaper of various patterns of round-cornered tiles printed with artwork that depicts different types of flowers and plants. They can choose one of two goals. They can attempt to earn the highest score possible in the fastest time or play casually without the countdown clock.
The player can only remove two tiles at a time. Each pair of tiles must display identical artwork. For example, they can only match two pink roses, two long-petal blue flowers, or two tall green cacti. The pieces must also have adjacent positions on the field or rest across a gap between tiles that's no more than three blue connecting lines or two 90-degree angles of lines. If the player attempts to select two non-matching tiles, the game ignores their action and waits for them to try a different move.
Although Blossom Party features timed play, the player can turn off this mode, even while playing a timed level. They merely need to select a tab marked with the face of an analog clock near the lower-right corner of the screen.
