Bloom Lines is a matching game that features a garden theme. Across two modes (i.e., Classic and Adventure), the player aligns flowers on a grid in a flowerbed to cut the blooms and make bouquets and other decorative flower arrangements.
Unlike match-3 games, the player matches more than three blooms at a time. One unique aspect of this game is that they review the numbers of available blooms by type and then use a special framed tool on the left front wall of the shop above the garden to direct their matching decisions.
When the player selects the tool, they receive a drop-down of five framed patterns that display potential bloom layouts. They then select one of these layouts and rearrange the blooms to match it.
Once they complete this task, the game snips the blooms with garden shears and places the new flower arrangements on one of four tables covered with white tablecloths to the left of the flowerbed. In some cases, the game places other common related items on the tables, such as a teddy bear holding a heart or a gift box that has a large bow on the lid.
Bloom Lines auto-populates open spaces in the garden with new blooms after each move. The player then repeats the process for as long as possible.
Over time, the game unlocks several helpful garden tools that perform different tasks to the right of the flowerbed. For example, one tool removes an unwanted bloom or stone from the garden, and another removes weeds.
