Block Stacking is a block puzzle game that requires the player to sort and stack blocks made from different objects to create and destroy the levels of a tower. It shares elements with helix-maze puzzle games, such as dropping objects in specific ways and demolition of tower levels. The player's primary goals are to drop, build and destroy levels and earn points. If they lose, then they attempt to beat their last-best rank.
The player starts with watermelon slices. The game typically uses slices from fruit and vegetables in place of standard blocks. The produce items include cucumbers, kiwis and onions. The game eventually offers pizza slices, books and other similar objects that stack well. When the player stacks multiple blocks to create one or more tower levels, either in a single move or multiple ones, the game demolishes the level or levels.
Block Stacking also offers booster play. The player can use bombs to destroy multiple levels with one move. They can use an arrows button to randomly shuffle blocks before a drop. The game eliminates levels automatically as a reward for performing streaks as well.
The game provides the player with access to new objects after they earn enough points or view a video.
