Block Puzzle Tropical Story is a block puzzle game. On a tropical island, the player must form nine-block horizontal and vertical lines and sub-grid sections on 9x9 Sudoku-style boards using polyomino shapes to travel to different areas of paradise. They also remove items from individual blocks and complete other tasks.
With each level, the player receives instructions to target specific goals, such as a specific number of whole blueberries, coconut and kiwi halves, watermelon slices, or other types of fruit. Once they reach a target, they go to the next level. They must complete 10 levels to visit the next location.
The player receives the polyomino shapes on a left panel in sets of three. They must use all the shapes before they can gain access to additional ones. If they start to run out of space on a board, they can use boosters to remove unwanted blocks. A rotator tool allows them to rotate a shape on the panel. A rocket booster allows them to remove a vertical line and a horizontal line at the same time. Lastly, a bomb removes multiple blocks in a blast radius.
Block Puzzle Tropical Story rewards the player with coins. When they finish the levels at a location, they receive a gift that contains extra heart lives and boosters. They can also earn more coins by viewing ad videos. The coins allow them to buy boosters at any time while playing a level.
