Block Match 8x8 is a block puzzle game. The player's goal is to progress through as many levels as possible and earn a high score by collecting colorful star blocks.
The player collects star blocks by creating eight-block columns and rows using polyomino shapes that contain one or more star blocks. They complete this task on an 8x8 light blue board that features a grid of squares. They must collect a specific number of one or more different colored star blocks per level. They must also complete this task before they run out of turns. They can track their remaining moves at the upper-left corner. They're rewarded with additional turns at the end of each level. The game provides the score and level number at the top center.
Block Match 8x8 presents the player with the polyomino shapes in a set of three below the board. Unlike similar games, the player doesn't have to use all three shapes to receive new ones. The game automatically makes a new shape appear after they use one. It also provides a round, yellow shuffle button in the lower-left corner. That said, winning isn't easy. The game also challenges the player by sometimes withholding shapes that feature star blocks for a long time.
The shapes contain mostly blue blocks at the beginning. The player can unlock 14 new block skins over time. They can also open red gift boxes with gold ribbons. They merely need to create an eight-block line that features a gift box block and then watch an ad video.�
