Block Mania is a block puzzle game in which the player attempts to earn the highest score possible by creating eight-block columns and rows with colorful polyomino shapes on an 8x8 purple grid. The game features a Classic mode and an Adventure mode.
With Classic mode, the player creates lines endlessly until they run out of space on the grid. They then start over and attempt to beat their all-time best score, which the game displays next to a gold crown at the upper-left corner. Adventure mode is similar to a tournament. The player wins a trophy if they complete 97 levels. In each level, they receive tasks, such as reaching a target score, before they run out of moves.
The player creates the eight-block lines by sliding the shapes onto the board. They must use all three shapes before they receive additional ones. They receive a higher combo score if they plan ahead. For example, they can create partial adjacent columns and rows, and then use one shape to complete multiple lines with one move.
Block Mania supplies the player with a Revive button when they lose. That said, they must view an advertising video to use it.
