Block Jam is a timed block-sorting game similar to Color Block Jam. From level to level, the player removes polyomino and other shapes from grid-marked boards by feeding the shapes through shredders embedded in the side walls. The game rewards them with coins and boosters.
Each board features multiple shredders. A shape can only flow through a shredder of the same color. When the player processes a shape correctly, it turns into disappearing pixels.
That said, the game makes sorting the shapes difficult in several ways. It places some shredders in tight side-by-side positions. It blocks the movement of shapes with other shapes and unmovable objects. Additionally, it places directional arrows on some shapes that prevent specific moves. For example, the player can't slide a shape left or right when it's marked with an arrow that points up and down.
Block Jam offers some boosters to help the player overcome these and other obstacles. The special tools include a hammer that removes a selected shape and a snowflake that freezes the upper-center timer for a few seconds. The player uses their coin winnings or ad videos views to buy access to boosters. They also receive coins as a daily bonus and gift box prize.
