Block Dropping Merge is a merge game similar to 2048 and Suika (Watermelon) games. The player's goal is to merge matching colorful round-cornered, numbered blocks inside a container by selecting drop points below arrows within it. They also attempt to earn points and coins.
The player can only perform matches with identical blocks that drop into adjacent stacked or side-by-side positions. Each drop point within the container is marked with a dark gray or black column below an arrow. The container features six of these column-style drop points.
When the player selects a column, the current numbered block drops quickly into place. They can prepare ahead for a drop by reviewing the current block and two preview blocks in a horizontal area above the drop arrows.
Block Dropping Merge also features two boosters below the container. With coins, the player can swap two blocks inside the drop columns at any time using a swap booster marked with two arrows. They can destroy an unwanted block to free up space in a column and the container overall with a hammer booster marked with a large silver head and wooden handle.
If the player allows the blocks to stack too high, they lose. The game warns them with a flashing red horizontal line.
