Balls Shoot and Merge is a bubble-popping game. The player doesn't perform any merge maneuvers. Instead, their goal is to use ball-like bubble projectiles to clear a playfield of matching hanging bubble balls. They perform this task by hitting a cluster of two or more adjacent matching balls with a projectile.
This game offers a variation of play that differs from many similar games. The field displays both a classic mix of glossy colored bubbles and slightly smaller black ones. The small bubbles can cause other connected bubbles to hang at abnormal angles. Additionally, even if the player believes they can easily shoot a projectile between two matching ones, the game sometimes makes the gap slightly smaller than the size of the projectile. As a result, the hit doesn't complete a cluster or pop the bubbles.
Balls Shoot and Merge offers avalanche gameplay as well. If the player hits a cluster connected to non-matching bubble balls that have no link to the rest of the bubbles on the field, the non-matching ones drop, hit the bottom of the field, bounce or roll, and then pop.
The player monitors the number of bubble ball projectiles they have at any time in the lower-right corner. Once they run out of moves, the game drops more balls onto the field. The player also tracks their score in the lower-left area next to a white trophy icon. They track their all-time best score below it.
