Ball Blaster is a shooting game with running and racing elements. A player fires balls from a cannon on an obstacle-course track suspended in the air that curves upward at a distance. The player must slide the weapon left and right quickly enough to fire balls at striped, green and red cracked balls rolling toward it.
If the balls reach the horizontal dashed line before the cannon, the player loses and must replay the level. If they destroy the balls beforehand, they win.
No matter the outcome of the initial run, the player earns money that they can use to upgrade the cannon's fire rate and damage capabilities. If they run out of money, they can perform these upgrades by watching advertisements. They also receive help from the game in other ways.
Ball Blaster slides blue multiplier gates across the track at intermittent intervals. If the player fires a ball through a blue gate, they multiply the number of balls fired up the track or access special powers. If they fire through two multiplier gates, they also increase the number of cannonballs a second time. If the special-power gate features a snowflake booster, the cannonball turns into a wave of snowballs that freezes one or more cracked balls. That said, the game also displays intermittent red gates. The player must attempt to shoot past these gates instead of through them.
