Associations: Test Your Brain! is a brain development game that features different types of puzzles. The player's objectives are to improve their cognitive skills and win rewards. The player can accept a daily challenge, enter an event, or perform word associations.
With Daily Challenge, the player faces different daily games. For example, they might play a block puzzle game in which they must arrange blocks in lines to earn a specific score or break numbered bricks. The Event mode directs them to compete in a tournament against other players across 10 rounds in an attempt to rank high on a global leaderboard. In word-association games, or the Parts mode, the player attempts to correctly group word and phrase tiles by topic across multiple levels. Their goals are to unlock new levels, collect keys to unlock new chapters, and earn achievement titles.
Associations: Test Your Brain!'s main Part mode features three parts (i.e., Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3) and three chapters per each one (i.e., Easy, Medium and Difficult). The player reviews all the words and phrases and attempts to sort the tiles into topic categories. The categories are broad, but examples of common ones include Celestial Bodies, Decorative Items and Winter Sports.
Some words and phrases apply to more than one category, which can result in selection mistakes. The player can only select the wrong tile three times, as represented by red penalty heart passes. The game helps them with two ad-supported hint buttons in the lower-left area. These buttons reveal a topic with orange popup text and highlight tiles from the same group with central orange spots, respectively.
