ASMR: Tattoo Treatment is an educational makeover game. It allows a player to discover some of the basic ways physicians and other medical personnel treat injuries and illnesses related to tattoos, piercings and other body modifications.
The game breaks down treatment into three sections. The player starts by assisting with cleaning and disinfecting the infected, swollen red areas of the patient's face with hydrogen peroxide. They then remove all the jewelry and perform additional steps to reduce and treat the infection and inflammation, such as applying antibiotic ointment and an ice bag to the worst spots.
In the second section, the player treats an infected and inflamed tattoo on the patient's arm. In this area, the game prompts the player to perform treatment tasks that have a fantasy element as well, such as interacting with and popping unrealistically large germs and using gauges to modify how the patient's body fights off the infection with compounded medicine. The player must also repaint the patient's tattoo using a palette of paints.
After the treatments end, ASMR: Tattoo Treatment prompts the player to update the patient's hairstyle, hair color, top, jacket, accessories, facial jewelry and makeup. The player can also request a random look by using the lower-right button labeled with a cube icon.
