Aladdin Solitaire is a timed chance-style card game that features an Aladdin theme and rules similar to Chinese Mahjong. Across 20 levels, the player attempts to clear away layered patterns of cards by removing pairs of matching ones. They also attempt to earn the highest combined main and bonus score possible.
Each level displays the cards in a unique pattern. The player can match any card by number. The color and suit don't matter. That said, the game doesn't make it easy to match cards. In fact, there's a considerable amount of luck involved in winning a level.
The player looks for pairs on the playfield. If they can't find a match between two face-up cards, they select from the draw pile in the bottom-center area. The game reveals two cards in empty spaces to the right of the pile. If the cards don't match, the player continues selecting from the pile until they find one. The game then auto-transfers the set to the right of the face-up draw pile cards.
Aladdin Solitaire challenges the player with a draw limit. The player can only select from the pile two extra times. If they run out of cards, they must start over. The only way to win is by luckily finding matches that reduce the pattern quickly.
The game displays a fraction to the left of the draw pile that reveals the number of remaining draw cards and turns. The player can review the level number, number of stars, and timer in the upper-left area. They can check the rules, reload or pause the game, turn off the music or sound, and expand the screen via buttons in the upper-right area.
