4 Hexa is a merge game in the 2048 subcategory that features hexagon-shaped tiles known as "hexas." On a grid made of hexa pavers, the player merges numbered tiles in groups of four to create higher-numbered ones. Their goals are to earn the most points and coins for as long as possible with every merge.
The game places the grid vertically on most of the screen. It displays the score and the all-time score in the upper-left corner and the coins balance in the upper-right one.
The player must merge four identical tiles in adjacent positions. They can slide a single tile into a gap between a set of three matching ones. They merely need an unblocked path from it anywhere on the grid to the spot. If they can only move a tile into a future merge position, the game penalizes them by placing more tiles on the grid.
4-Hexa displays a preview of the penalty tiles in the upper-center position and performs random placements. It auto-merges some tiles during the penalty action. Additionally, both the player's and game's actions can make a matching tile randomly auto-move into a four-hexa position, resulting in a merge as well.
If the player needs an occupied space on the grid, they can use a lightning bolt booster to destroy the tile. They must pay for access with coins or ad video views. After the first usage, the game increases the price they must pay with the coins.
