1010 Treasures is a timed block puzzle game that features a 10x10 grid of black squares that hangs vertically in front of a fantasy outdoor backdrop. Across 30 levels, the player's primary goal is to collect ancient coins by creating 10-block columns and rows with polyominoes and other shapes. They must clear the grid of all coins before they run out of time. They can also attempt to rank with a high score on a global leaderboard.
The player receives three shapes at a time on wooden panels to the left of the grid. They must position the shapes to form the 10-block lines. Although they win a level after they collect all the coins, they earn the highest score by creating lines around the coins until the last possible moment before time runs out. They earn an even higher score when they complete multiple lines with one shape.
The game displays playing card suit icons (i.e., clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades) on each of the blocks that make up a shape. That said, it doesn't require the player to align the shapes based on specific colors or suits. The player can position the shapes on any empty black squares.
1010 Treasures penalizes the player if they allow the clock below the level number in the upper-right area to count down entirely. They must restart the level and rebuild their score from zero.
