10 Mahjong is a timed, tile-based, simple addition, logic puzzle game that uses Chinese Mahjong tiles instead of plain number tiles. Instead of making classic identical icon or theme selections, the player must remove all pieces from the playfield before time runs out by pairing tiles that equal 10.
The player can only pair uncovered tiles that have at least one left or right side open. They attempt to also earn a high standard score and bonus points across the game's 15 levels.
The available sets are bamboo, characters and stones that display numbers or a distribution of pieces that equal a number (i.e., the 1 character, four stalks or six stones). This game doesn't offer dragons, plants or seasons. The player must select tiles from the same group (i.e., two bamboo stalks plus eight stalks, one stone plus nine stones, the 3 character and the 7 character... and so on). As with classic Mahjong, the first tile in the pair turns green when they select it.
10 Mahjong shows the current level, the score and the countdown clock in the upper-right area. In the lower-right area, it provides a hint question mark button and a back arrow shuffle button. That said, any use of either of these buttons reduces the score by several hundred points per use.
