Frogtastic is a Zuma-style bubble shooter. In a forest or park, the player uses a frog to shoot colorful bubble ball projectiles at matching balls on trains that roll along tracks among stones and flowers. The player's goals on each level are to stop the trains from reaching a hole in the ground and earn as many points as possible.
Once the player begins a level, they must wait for the train to roll onto the track before they receive projectiles inside of the frog's mouth and on top of its head. The player then shoots the mouth projectile at two or more matching balls. When they complete a matched cluster, the bubbles pop, and the game adjusts the length of the train.
Frogtastic attempts to distract the player. For example, insects often fly over the area with distracting wing flapping movements. The train also passes through shadows created by leaves that make the colors on each ball harder to make out.
The key to winning each level is for the player to think logically and strategically while rotating the frog. They must then shoot as quickly as possible. For example, the player might focus on shooting sections in the back of the train to prevent it from pushing the rest of the balls near the front forward.
